Adrienne Moore is a well-known Richmond painter, illustrator and educator in the visual arts. Her mixed media work has been showcased internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She was born and raised in Northern Ireland, where in her work at an inner-city school she first realized the power of the arts to stimulate and inspire her students. Adrienne immigrated to Canada in 1967 and has been a part of the Richmond community for over 50 years. During her work as a teacher in Richmond, Adrienne taught many ESL students and found art to be a universal language that allowed children to communicate beyond linguistic boundaries. She is a member of the Richmond Artists’ Guild, holds associate signature status with the Canadian Federation of Artists, and has achieved signature membership status with the North West Watercolour Society. In 2009 Adrienne was honoured at the inaugural Richmond Arts Awards with an Art Education Award. This was in recognition of her outstanding achievements and contribution to arts education in Richmond elementary schools.
Adrienne still actively teaches classes and workshops throughout the community and at Richmond schools. Feel free to contact her by email for details.
Currently, Adrienne has some of her paintings exhibited at the Firehall Centre for the Arts in Delta. Her art can also be viewed and purchased at A Monkey Tree Emporium in Steveston.
On May 7th and 8th, the Richmond community will hold a “Doors Open” event, inviting visitors into artist studios, heritage landmarks, museums and much more. Adrienne plans to have an open studio that weekend, so make sure to stop by and view her beautiful paintings.
